Salary

Beginning rates of pay for Inside Wireman apprentices is 35% ($20.59) of Journeyman scale ($58.83). Beginning rates of pay for Telecommunications apprentices is 50% ($20.47) of Installer scale ($40.94). Pay upgrades are based upon completion of a minimum amount of on-the-job training hours and the completion of each school year. Wages are subject to change by future contract agreements.

Inside Wireman & Telecommunications Apprentices

Apprenticeship Overview At the Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee of Southern Nevada (EJATC of Southern Nevada), we offer comprehensive apprenticeship programs to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the electrical industry. Our programs include: Inside Wireman Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold a valid driver’s license and social security number, and successfully complete both an aptitude test and an interview. What You Will Learn: You’ll learn the fundamentals of electricity, wiring methods, electrical code, and jobsite safety. Training includes conduit bending, blueprint reading, motor controls, and advanced systems like fire alarms and solar. . Duration: Apprentices must complete 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and successfully fulfill all related instructional requirements, including a minimum of 720 hours of classroom instruction. Benefits: Our apprenticeship program allows you to earn while you learn. You’ll receive competitive wages and benefits while gaining hands-on experience in the electrical trade. Career Paths: After graduation, you’ll join the workforce as a highly skilled professionals with opportunities to work for IBEW-NECA contractors both locally and nationwide. You can advance into roles such as foreman or project manager, become an instructor, or even start your own business. Installer Technician Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold a valid driver’s license and social security number, and successfully complete both an aptitude test and an interview. What You Will Learn: You’ll learn how to install, test, and maintain technology systems like voice, data, video, fire alarms, and security. Training covers cabling, system integration, safety, and industry standards. Duration: Apprentices must complete 6,000 hours of on-the-job training and successfully fulfill all related instructional requirements, including a minimum of 640 hours of classroom instruction. Benefits: Our apprenticeship program allows you to earn while you learn. You’ll receive competitive wages and benefits while gaining hands-on experience in the electrical trade. Announcement of Apprenticeship Opportunities:
Accepting Applications                 

The Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of Southern Nevada (EJATCSNV) will be accepting applications for the Inside Wireman (8000 hrs) and Telecommunications (6000 hrs) apprenticeship programs online & in person until June 30, 2026 at 4:30 pm PST. Access to applications will be online 24/7 at www.Earnwhileyoulearn.org/apprenticeship-and-application, and at our Training Center, located at 620 Leigon Way, Las Vegas, NV 89110 during the hours of 7:30 am and 4:30 pm PST, Monday through Friday (unless specifically noted). There is no application fee at this time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants Must:


Age: Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application, no maximum age.

Education: Possess a High School Diploma, GED certificate, or High School Equivalency (HSE). Provide an official transcript stating completion of
one full year of high school or one semester of post high school algebra or higher with a passing grade and/or Provide a Certification of Completion
from the ETA Online Tech Math Course.


Aptitude: Must successfully complete an Aptitude Test prepared by the electrical training ALLIANCE. The applicant will be required to obtain a
qualifying score to be eligible for the oral interview.


Oral Interview: Must successfully complete an oral interview administered by the EJATCSNV Interview Sub-Committee.

Only completed applications, accompanied by all required documents listed below, and submitted within thirty (30) days will be accepted:

Copy of Valid Driver’s License*
Copy of High School Diploma or Equivalent*
Official Transcripts**
Copy of Certification of Completion from the ETA Online Tech Math Course.* ***
Transcripts from Trade School, College or any other schooling (if applicable)*
Copy of Military DD-214 Release Papers & Military Transcripts (if applicable)*

ORIGINAL SEALED ENVELOPE ONLY.


***Alternatively, those who provide a Certification of Completion from the ETA Online Tech Math Course are not required to submit official transcripts.

At time of selection, Applicants Must: 

· Must be physically able to perform all work of the trade.
· Must pass a drug test prior to acceptance.
· Must complete a performance based "Boot Camp" upon offer of indentureship.
