Ironworker Apprentice Local 24 Accepting Applications
This is an apprenticeship towards a career in the ironworking industry. An effective way to train and become a highly skilled crafts person
STRUCTURAL— Fabrication, assembly and fastening of steel buildings, bridges and powerhouses using cranes, derricks and rigging systems.
REINFORCING— Rebar placement techniques used on concrete forms and in both post-tension and prestressed structures.
ORNAMENTAL— Fabrication and installation of wrought iron, aluminum, bronze, brass, and stainless steel of composite stairs, railings, storefronts, sash, and other construction units.
HEAVY RIGGING— The use of cables, blocks, falls, and power equipment to hoist large machinery and equipment.
SHEETING—Fabrication and installation of sheeting and decking used on mills, offices, schools, and buildings for siding, floors, covers, roofs, along with curtain wall systems.
WELDING— The use of manual Shielded Metal Arc, Flux-cored Arc, Gas Metal Arc, and Oxy/acetylene processes.
Job Requirements Ironworker Local 24 geographical jurisdictions cover the entire state of Colorado and the majority of the state of Kansas. There are over 600 Iron Workers specializing in the following craft sectors: bridge erection and repair, concrete/reinforcing steel, industrial construction, industrial plant maintenance, ornamental iron/curtain wall, pre-cast concrete construction, pre-engineered metal buildings, post tensioning, rigging/machinery moving, structural steel erection, welding, and wind turbine construction.
Requirements
To qualify as a candidate for this apprenticeship program, you must submit:·
Birth Certificate ( You must be 18 years of age)·
High School Diploma or G.E.D·and
·Driver’s License: a Drug Test is required prior to dispatch
