Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour including benefits

IBEW Local 577 is accepting applications for its Construction Electrician Apprenticeship
As an electrician, your primary responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This involves interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layouts and circuit configurations. You'll use a variety of hand and power tools to measure, cut, and install wiring, switches, outlets, and other electrical components. Additionally, electricians troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. This may involve testing circuits, replacing faulty components, and upgrading systems to meet current electrical codes and regulations. Electricians also play a crucial role in ensuring workplace safety by adhering to established safety standards and procedures, such as using personal protective equipment and properly grounding electrical systems. Collaboration with other construction professionals, such as architects and engineers, may be necessary to coordinate electrical installations within larger construction projects.

Requirements
To apply for an entry level Construction Electrician position you need -
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the Time of Assignment
- Must be a HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE or have a General Equivalency Diploma. High School Seniors in their final semester are also encouraged to apply
- Must have one (1) year of high school ALGEBRA with a passing grade of "C" or one (1) post high school ALGEBRA course with a passing grade of "C"
- Must attain the established norm on the Electrical Training Alliance Apprentice Selection Test Battery. Arrangements for testing are made by the Committee
- Must present or sign a statement that the applicant is physically able to perform electrical construction work with or without reasonable accommodation. Applicants wo reach employable status must successfully pass a drug screen test before placement in the field
- Must provide official High School transcript(s) and (if minimum math requirements listed elsewhere) post High School transcript(s) showing courses and grades attained. Transcripts must indicate Algebra or list classes that are equivalent to one full year of Algebra.
- Must have the ability to get to and from work and school on a timely and consistent basis.
